Starry ChaiChicken

Good Earth®  Starry Chai™ tea gives the roasted chicken a nice kick of acidity from the hibiscus notes and has a wonderful aroma to go along.


  • 1 whole chicken
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 white or yellow onion
  • 2 tea bags Good Earth®  Starry Chai™,  tag removed from the tea bag
  • 2 carrots, peeled
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil


  • Preheat oven to 400 F
  • Rinse and dry the chicken.
  • Season the inside and outside of the chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Open one of the Good Earth® Starry Chai™ tea bags and sprinkle the tea blend on the outside of the chicken.
  • Place one whole Good Earth® Starry Chai™ tea bag inside the cavity of the chicken. Drizzle olive oil on the outside of the chicken.
  • Chop the onion, carrot and halve the garlic cloves. Combine and set in a baking dish.
  • Drizzle the vegetables with the 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Then, toss them to coat as evenly as possible.
  • Set the chicken on top of the vegetables and bake in the oven at 400 F for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • Remove tea bag inside the chicken and discard. Cut up chicken to desired size.
  • Serve with wild rice.
